Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 28: Following directions the Governor's administration, the Directorate of School Education, Jammu, (DSEJ) has kept the recent transfer list of teachers in Jammu district in abeyance but influential teachers who have managed their postings at suitable places have already joined their new postings. Even some teachers, who have patronage of higher-ups, are still joining their new postings despite directions of Farooq Khan.
Credible sources said that gang of officers/officials Directorate and Chief Education Officer (CEO) offices have asked transferred teachers not to give importance to directions given by the higher-ups. These officers/officials have suggested teachers to joining their new place of postings without caring directions of the higher-ups.
As reported earlier on the directions of Farooq Khan, Advisor to Governor, who is incharge of School Education Department, Anuradha Gupta, Director School Education, Jammu, issued order in this regard, according to which the Chief Education Officer's (CEO) order affecting transfers and postings of 600 teachers has been kept in abeyance.
The Adviser has taken cognisance of the complaints of discrepancies in the transfer list and issued necessary directions to DSEJ to immediately keep the said order in abeyance. The CEO, Jammu, had ordered transfer of 600 teachers on late Friday evening, including a number of surplus teachers, who were adjusted in city schools without posting.
According to sources, the Advisor had received several complaints regarding violation of rules and norms in transfer. "During the previous government, transfers in lieu of monetary consideration had become a norm which has led to corruption at various levels of governance. It will not be tolerated," said a senior official in the Education Department.
