DIPR organises symposia on 'Drug De-addiction'

Jammu, Sept 13: The Cultural Wing, Department of Information & Public Relations (DIPR) Jammu today organised symposium on "Drug De-Addiction at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Canal Road Jammu. Principal of the host School, Parveen Raina was the chief guest on the occasion.
Iqra Khanji, a student of 12th standard was adjudged as best speaker in the symposium while Pinky Nayak of class 11th and Simran Koul of class 12th clinched 2nd and 3rd place respectively.
About 13 students of the host school participated in the symposium and expressed their views on the topic. Chief guest lauded the efforts of the Information Department in organizing the event of great importance in the school. She urged the department to organize such more programmes in near future. She called upon the students to spread the message of drug de-addiction among the masses.
Meanwhile, artists of Cultural Wing presented a scintillating cultural programme on the theme for generating awareness about various deadly diseases caused by drugs.
Dr. Veena Pathania, Kalpna Gupta and Kamla Dogra acted as judges in the programme while the proceeding of the programme was conducted by Senior Artist, Suresh Kumar.
Later, the participants were awarded prizes by the chief guest.
Among others, Drama Instructor, Vijay Anand, senior artists of Information Department which includes Kamal Kumar, Surjeet Singh, Yash Kumar, Mohinder Kumar, Suresh Kumar, Balbir Singh, Rakesh Kumar, staff members and students were present on the occasion.
