9/17/2019 9:13:29 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 17: Congress has termed the New Motor Vehicle Act as too steep and "way beyond the limits" and it should not be implemented in this trouble torn state of Jammu and Kashmir and be reviewed as even BJP ruled states have done the same.
In a joint statement several Congress leaders have said that the penalties under the new Motor Vehicle Act, which can range from Rs.1000 to Rs.10,000 based on offences is the main reason, for which people are protesting and the most of the state governments even BJP ruled states have decided to review the same.
A meeting of Secretaries of JKPCC was held here today to discuss the problems of the people following bad economic policies of BJP government pushing the poor and common man to the worst hardships these days.
They said the fines are "way beyond limits" of common people and it could lead to lot of despair amongst the citizens. The stiff fines are too harsh on the people and it will lead to higher levels of corruption besides putting lot of burden on the already overburdened common man due to price hike and worst economy in the country.
Those present in the meeting include Ashok Dogra-Ex-MLA, Shashi Sharma, Pawan Raina, Neeraj Gupta, Narinder Sharma, Sdr. Manjit Jatt, Parveen Sarawar Khan, Soba Singh, Thomas Khokhar, Sanjeev Sharma and Kulbir Singh Pathania.
