Charak expresses dismay over declaration of holiday on Maharaja's birthday

Jammu, Sept 20: Th. Gulchain Singh Charak, Former Minister, President Dogra Sadar Sabha and convener of AJCSF in a press statement today i.e. 20th September 2019 at Jammu expressed his dismay over not declaring the holiday on 23rd September, the Birth Anniversary of the great Maharaja Hari Singh, despite the fact that a resolution has already been adopted by the state legislative council J&K. Charak further said that DSS shall celebrate the Birth Anniversary of the Maharaja on 23rd September, 2019 at DSS Bhawan at 10 A.M and appealed to all members of DSS and AJCSF to participate in the event.
Giving details about the programme, Former Minister said that light will be thrown on the life of Maharaja Hari Singh who was known for his bold personality, reformative approach and a forward looking strong secular rule. Highlighting the contributions and achievements of the great Maharaja, he urged the public to carry forward his message of secularism, gender equation, women education, removal of untouchability and justice for all. Charak also admired the Maharaja's decision of accession of J&K State with India along with other 563 princely states. He again appealed to the Governor Satya Pal Malik to declare 23rd September, the Birthday of Maharaja Hari Singh Ji's as a public holiday as it involves the sentiments of whole Dogra race that comprises people from all religious sects, trades and walks of life.
