Arrangements reviewed for Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Charri Yatra

JAMMU, Sept 20: The district administration today reviewed arrangements for upcoming Chhari Yatra of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine during a meeting held with different departments and concerned organizations.
The meeting was chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Rishpal Singh.
Threadbare discussion was held on various issues pertaining to security arrangements, traffic regulation, fire services, cleanliness and sanitation, drinking water arrangements, un-interrupted power supply, medical facility and other vital issues concerning the yatra.
It was informed that the Chhari Yatra for Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine would be held on September 28th and 29th.
The ADC stressed upon the concerned officers to ensure that all arrangements are put in place well before commencement of the Chhari yatra. He asked the Municipal authorities to keep proper sanitation en-route the yatra. The PDD and PHE authorities were directed to ensure uninterrupted power and water supply. Police Department was asked to make all security arrangements. The Health authorities were asked to provide ambulances with first aid facilities.
Fire Tenders were directed to remain present during the yatra period to avoid any untoward incident. Tehsidars Nagrota and Tehsil Jammu have been nominated as Nodal officer for conduct of this annual Chhari Yatra.
Among others, senior officers from PDD, PHE, Municipality, Fire Services, FCS&CA, Tourism, Police and other allied departments besides representatives of Dharmik Yatra Samiti, Shiv Sena and other social organizations attended the meeting.
