DLTFC Udhampur sponsors 180 PMEGP Cases

Udhampur, Sept 30: The District Level Task Force committee (DLFTC) today sponsored 180 local cases under Prime Minister Employment Generation Program with a loan amounting to Rs. 20.12 cr, here at its second meeting of the current year held under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner, Dr. Piyush Singla.
With this the total number of sponsored cases during the year 2019-20 has gone up to 309.
The PMEGP is a credit linked subsidy scheme for unemployed youth launched by MSME for setting up their ventures under manufacturing /Service sectors for employment generation.
Speaking on the occasion Dr. Piyush Singla, District Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur urged upon the beneficiaries to avail maximum benefits of the PMEGP scheme which provides handsome incentives in the shape of margin money/ subsidy and become job providers instead of job seekers. He also exhorted upon the bankers to come forward to provide hassle-free loan assistance to the beneficiaries, so that they can see up their self employment ventures.
Member Secretary DLTFC, General Manager DIC Udhampur Suram Chand Sharma apprised the Chairman that the achievements for the year 2018-19 was above 200% and said that during the current financial year , 134 cases have already been sponsored to various financial institutions in the first quarter and Banks are disbursing a good no. of cases with J&K Bank taking the lead.
Among Others present were LDM Udhampur Bal Jee Naru, Amresh Kotwal, Functional Manager DIC Udhampur and other committee members were also present.
