| Theft accused escaped from Police custody, 2 officials suspended | | |

KatHua, Sept 30: An accused of theft case escaped from the Police custody in Kathua following the two constables were suspended by the senior officials of the police department for negligence toward duty.
According to police sources, the incident took place on Monday evening in Chadwal Police Post Hiranagar Kathua when the accused namely Rehmat Ali, who was arrested in theft case earlier, sought permission from the constable on duty for the natural call.
The accused managed to give slip to the constables on duty and jump over the wall and ran away. The police officials launched manhunt. However, his whereabouts has still remained unknown till the last reports came in.
Following, the two constables included Munshi and Santri were put under suspension for carelessness toward duty.
Pertinently, the accused Rehmat Ali is in accused of bikes theft case in Hatli Morh Police Station FIR no 311/2019 under section 379RPC. |
