Amit Shah claims that Kashmir was free from restrictions
9/30/2019 10:26:38 PM
The centre has claimed that there were no restrictions in the Kashmir valley because of the world wide support the Government of India has received of abrogation of Article 370 and 35-A. This claim was made by the Union Home Minister Amit Shah has said there are no restrictions in the Kashmir valley now and that the entire world has supported the move to abrogate the special status given to Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370. Shah also said that Jammu and Kashmir will be the most developed region in the country in the next 5-7 years because of the bold step taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 5. The step taken by Modi would give room for resolving the problem of unemployment. Hitherto, those who want jobs could get it from the Government only and after Article 35-A was revoked it would set in motion base setting up new industries that could resolve the problem of unemployment.
The Home Minister also criticised the Opposition for spreading "misinformation" about restrictions in the Valley Where are the restrictions? It is only in your mind. There are no restrictions. Only misinformation about restrictions is being spread," he said addressing a seminar on national security. The Home Minister said out of the 196 police stations in Kashmir, curfew was lifted everywhere, and only in eight police stations areas CrPC 144 was imposed, where five or more persons cannot gather. It is after the statement of Amit Shah that Kashmir witnessed 23 protest rallies in 24 hours and again stone pelting crowd has surfaced.
In fact despite the claim of Shah the security scenario is delicate in Kashmir. Once Kashmir centric leaders were released they would not allow the Government to breathe peace. And this way peace may be derailed in case restrictions were removed from the Kashmir centric leaders. These leaders, whether belonging to NC, the PDP, the PDF and others continue to berate the Government for imposing restrictions. And after the Union Home Minister has claimed that there were no restrictions in the valley separatists may put up a bold front to derail peace. Once peace was derailed through protest rallies the situation could get worse and the Government may have no other alternative to reimpose restrictions.
