Navratra Festival gives big boost to J&K Tourism: Chibber

Katra, Sept 30: All India Devotional Song Competition as a part of Navratra Festival 2019 was inaugurated today at Yog Ashram Complex in the evening by litting of a traditional lamp by Chief Guest Chairman cum Managing Director J&K Bank R.K.Chibber & Chief Administrative Officer Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Super Speciality Hospital Dr.(Brig.) in presence of celebrity singer Shanker Sawhney, J&K Bank President Arun Gandotra,Commandant CRPF Jatinder Kumar Gupta,Chairman Devotional Song Committee & President Hotel Association Katra, Rakesh Wazir, Zonal Head J&K Bank Anand Pal Singh,Yog Acharya Swami Yoga Nand Maharaj,Addl.SP Katra Naresh Kumar Singh, Dy. SP Katra Vivek Shekher, Sudha Gupta, Virender Kesar, Parbhat Singh etc. While speaking on the occasion Chibber said that Navratra Festival gives big boost to J&K Tourism and situation over here at Katra is as normal as in any part of the world and if the pilgrimage of Vaishnodevi is properly tapped it can boost the economy of J&K in a big way.
He said that the need of the hour is this that stay of Yatries be increased by tempting them to visit places of Tourist interest around Katra like Patnitop, Sanasar, Bhaderwah, Shiv Khori and other parts of state so that stay of Yatries is increased and can boost the economy of the state in a big way and can provide lively hood to lacs and lacs of people.
He further said that this competition where on one hand has provided plat form to the budding singers on one hand and on other hand has proved to be major facilitator for increasing the Tourism in the state.
In live conversation with the host of the competition Rakesh Wazir which is the format of the competition Chibber said that bank will go to any extent for providing any facility to the pilgrims of Vaishnodevi which are related to Bank.
Harjai while speaking on the occasion said that this festival will prove to be the turning point in the revival of the Tourism which is decreased a little in the recent past and emphasized the people to come in large number overhere.
Whereas in first day of the preliminary round of competition Ayush Singh from Reasi took 1st position and Kirpal and Rashpal brothers from Amritsar Punjab got 2nd position and 3rd position was held jointly Sushmita from Jammu and Ananya from Udhampur among the 12 auditioned participants in which 03 participants were from outside state & 09 participants were from within state and were provided with the cash prizes of 10,000/- , 5,000/-and 3,000/- respectively by the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour. Chibber while appreciating the performance of the participant singers additionally announced the cash reward of Rs.31,00/- to each participant singer who qualified today's audition and performed on the satge.
The Devotional Song Competition was adjudged by the panels of experts in music including Celebrity Singer Shanker Sawhney, Dr.Usha Bhagati Ex.HOD Music many Degree colleges including P.G.M.A.M College Jammu, Dr.Surinder Kumar Sharma, HOD Govt.Degree College Sunni Shimla,& Dr.C L Verma Ex.Chairman Post Graduate Univeristy of Himachal Pradesh.
Famous celebrity film singer Shanker Sawhney known for his Maha Murtunjaya jaap which has got 15 crore hits and is known for his many hit songs like Kuri kur muri oye hoye etc. who had come all the way for performing in the event enthralled the audience with his melodious songs and the total environment of the venue became spiritual and the people were mesmerized on his tunes.Similarly former winners of the competition Ravi kumar and Sanjeet Thomas too enthralled the audience and presented their presentations.
