Importance of skill development in engineering profession held at YCET

Jammu, Nov 4: Department of Civil Engineering, Yogananda College of Engineering and Technology organized a guest lecture on "Importance of Skill Development in Engineering Profession" for 3rd semester Civil Engineering students.
Er. Rajnish Magotra, Coordinator Students affairs welcomed and Prof (Dr) A K Shrivastav, Director YCET presented bouquet to Resource person Er. P.K. Nanda, a renowned personality of Jammu. Retd. Executive Engineer from Hydraulic Wing of J&K Government, presently consultant in Gayatri Infrastructure LTD, engaged in Ring Road Project in Jammu.
He enumerated various types of challenges, which are being faced by youths nowadays which includes conflicts of ego, under importance to loads and lack of interest in career building, taking instructions, lack of respect for seniors. He also briefed the students about civil engineering aspects, like pace with the New Technologies. He stressed on the need for advance training, knowledge sharing & its management for deeper understanding. The students asked good number of queries before the resource person and thoroughly enjoyed intensive interaction.
Er. Kamal Kishore, HOD Civil Engg. thanked the guest speaker for sharing his valuable experiences and presentation with the budding engineers. Prof (Dr) A K Shrivastav, Director YCET, Er. Bodh Raj Verma, Chief Coordinator and faculty members were present on the occasion.
