Tawi Trekkers to organize Heritage treks for students in Kangra

JAMMU, Nov 4: In order to imbibe in young boys and girls the spirit of adventure and love and pride for the country and its glorious past, Tawi Trekkers J&K shall organize a number of Heritage treks for school students in Kangra area of Himachal Pradesh during winter. The first group shall leave for this educational journey on November 15.
During the four days venture the trekkers would visit the world heritage site of Kangra Fort, the largest fort in Himalaya and probably the oldest dated fort in India; the sacred Jwalajee shrine, one of the most ancient temples in India; Mcleodganj, the seat of His Holiness Dalai Lama; Dharamkot, popularly called Mini Israel, Tapovan, Chamunda, Bhagshunath, the beautiful waterfall, Dharamshala and Nagini Devi besides a visit to the beautiful Dharamshala stadium. However, the special attraction of the programme is a visit to a sprawling tea garden and a tea manufacturing company where the trekkers would learn about complete process of production of tea. It may be mentioned here that Tawi Trekkers J&K has been organizing Himalayan Trekking Programmes for young boys and girls in the age group of 10 to 14 years for the last 30 years in order to expose them to nature at a young age by providing them well organized and properly supervised trekking activities.
