DC Doda reviews functioning of banks

DODA, NOV 04: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Doda, Dr Sagar D Doifode chaired a District Consultative Committee (DCC) meeting here today and reviewed the crop loss assessment being done under newly revised guidelines of RBI, the status of KCCs enrolment and disbursement of loans by the banks in the district.
The meeting was attended by ADDC Doda Imam Din, CPO Doda Parshotam Kumar, LDM Doda, CAO Doda,Cluster head JK bank, Tehsildars, besides the heads of the Banks.
During the meeting, the LDM apprised the DC about the status of agriculture loans sanctioned under long term, short term basis by the different banks to the farmers on the basis of the land holdings, status of other loans, and pendency of KCC cases with the agriculture department and on the bank level.
The DC Doda urged the agriculture department and Banks to achieve the targets with close coordination. He asked them to revisit their figures and submit the pending KCC cases to the revenue authorities within a week's time to enable the farmers to avail the benefits of the schemes.
The ADDC Doda Imam Din was appointed as the Nodal Officer to evaluate and supervise the task.
Meanwhile, the Tehsildars were directed to conduct a separate meeting with bank authorities falling in their jurisdictions to evaluate and reconcile the KCC cases and also directed them to identify in their bank branches. The banks were urged to adhere to the guidelines for setting up a help desks for the convenience of the beneficiaries.
The DC Doda asked the LDM and all the bankers to step awareness campaign across the district with regard to the government schemes so that the deserving people come forward to avail the facilities. He issued specific instructions for achieving the targets set by the authorities and directed for submitting the progress report of all the banks on monthly basis to his office.
