3rd batch of Kathua jail inmates complete CBFL course in Urdu

KATHUA, NOV 04: Third Batch of Seven (07) inmates of District Jail Kathua has successfully completed/ passed Adult Education Program in Urdu through Tata Consultancy Services Ltd's Computer Based Functional Learning (CBFL) technique/ software "Parwah programme".
The CBFL technique/ software in teaching Basic Urdu education to Jail Inmates was introduced in teaching of Urdu sometime back. A group of 7 and 10 inmates has completed/ passed the course in First and Second Batch respectively. The software/ technique developed by Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. named "Hamari Urdu" emphasizes on learning words rather than alphabets, through a process of visually stimulating settings accompanied by audio which learners can easily relate to. The CBFL method is implemented using computers in such a way that the objective of teaching words in a short time can be achieved which is supplemented by reference text-books of National Literacy Mission.
The successful candidates namely, Madan Lal, Shabir Hussain, Manveer Lalotra, Tousif Ahmed Kambay, Pankaj Sharma, Rajinder Kumar and Ghar Singh were awarded Course Completion Certificates by representative District Legal Aid Service Kathua in presence of Superintendent Jail Mushtaq Ahmed Malla, Course Coordinator Dharam Chand, Teaher, other officers and staff of District Jail.
On the occasion, Representative District Legal Aid Service Kathua and Superintendent congratulated the passing inmates and advised them to take part in Educational and Vocational Programmes being run in Jail so that they can live respectable and law-abiding life after release from this Jail. The Jail is also planning to teach Hindi language through similar technique/ software in near future.
