JAMMU, Nov 4: J&K Handicapped Welfare Association (JKHWA) has urged upon the Lt Governor of J&K to bestow personal attention to our cause and help us to enable us to march ahead for earning our livelihood. Addressing a press conference here today, president of JKHWA said that the specially abled people of J&K State more particularly of Jammu Province are feeling ignored because most of the facilities which in normal course are being provided to specially abled persons in other parts of the country are denied to our brothers and sisters who are specially abled and more particularly the physically challenged among them are facing lot many problems. Vera said that irony is that the issues already discussed from time to time at the highest level and most of the decisions arrived in the meetings dated February 14, 2017 chaired by the then Chief Minister and meeting dated September 25, 2017 chaired by the Governor are yet to be implemented. Despite implicit instructions from MHA, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, most of the Public Utility offices/Buildings are not disabled friendly and it becomes herculean task for a disable to go to their offices for official work. He said that precisely, important offices where there are no ramps included CE, PWD, Director, Health Services, Jammu, Director, School Education, Jammu, CMO Jammu, Govt. SMGS Hospital, Jammu, Teacher Bhawan, District Social Welfare Office, Jammu, Indian Red Cross Society, Kachi Chawni. Jammu, DIG Office Jammu, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, IGP Office, SSP Office, JDA Office and Offices/establishments in Bahu Plaza Complex. |
