Forest deptt conducts anti encroachment drive

Jammu, Nov 16: Forest Department conducted anti encroachment drive in village Dwara Compartment No. 65/B and demolished Ten illegal structures. DFO Jammu mentioned that during the visit of M.K.Diwedi Commissioner Secretary Forest Environment & Ecology, Dr.Mohit Gera, PCCF J&K Forest, Sameer Bharti, CCF Jammu, at Dwara area it was envisaged that this area be developed as a City Forest and the illegal encroachments and structures be removed from this land in a time bound manner. As a follow up of the direction, this encroachment eviction drive was carried out. The operation was conducted by forest team under the supervision of DFO Jammu Alok Kumar Maurya, the forest teams were led by Range Officer Bahu Nayeem Naik, Range Officer Jammu Vijay Khosla, Block Officer Bahu Anwar Mohd, alongwith forest field staff and Forest Protection Force personnels. Further upon the request of Forest Department, Tejinder Singh, SSP Jammu deployed a Police party headed by SDPO East, Rajinder Singh Rahi and SHO Bagh-e-Bahu, Sunil Sharma who provided assistance for the operation. Also Deputy Commissioner Jammu Sushma Chouhan deputed Duty Magistrate Shiv Kumar Gupta Naib Tehsildar to tackle law and order situation. In the operation 10 illegal structures constructed on forest land were demolished and 200 Kanal of area was vacated.
