Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 17: The creation of posts by the state government has once again exposed the ongoing discrimination with Jammu division, with the local bodies of Srinagar have more posts of gazetted as well as non-gazetted employees while Jammu authorities have less posts of employees.
According to the posts created by Housing and Urban Development Department for various authorities for Jammu and Srinagar capital cities, it exposed discrimination in the number of employees as well as officials working there.
As per several SROs issued by the HUDD of JK UT, the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) has only 32 gazetted posts while Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) has 52 posts of gazetted cadre, which are 20 more than Jammu.
Moreover the JMC has merely 1676 posts of non-gazetted cadre but its sister concern SMC has 3058 posts of non-gazetted cadre, which accounts for nearly double the number.
Moreover Srinagar Development Authority (SDA) has 52 posts of Gazetted cadre while Jammu Development Authority (JDA) has merely 34 posts, which was again 18 posts less than SDA. Similarly the SDA has 351 posts of Non-gazetted cadre while Jammu has 335 posts of non-gazetted cadre, as per the documents uploaded by the government.
Moreover Town Drainage Urban Local Bodies Kashmir as well as Jammu have each 6 posts of gazetted cadre while in the non-gazetted cadre posts, the Town division of Kashmir has 110 posts while Jammu division has merely 57 posts, which was 53 posts less than Kashmir division.
The Town Planning Organization Jammu has 15 posts of gazetted cadre while Town Planning Organization Kashmir has 14 posts, which was one post less than Jammu but in non-gazetted cadre, Kashmir has 65 posts while Jammu has 61 posts.
In case of Srinagar Metropolitan Region Development Authority has 52 posts of Gazetted cadre while Jammu Metropolitan Region Development Authority has 50 posts of Gazetted cadre. In case of non-gazetted cadre both the authorities have 93 posts.
The BJP leaders had been boasting of ending discrimination with Jammu region and have been self-congratulatory but the creation of less posts to Jammu, exposed their hollow slogans.
