BSF Mandi organizes free Medical Camp

POONCH, Dec 6: Addressing the health related problems of the people from remote areas of the region, an unit located in 183 BN bSF Mandi sector organized a medical camp at panchayat bedar in tehsil mandi today. Such initiative by the BSF has not only enabled patients to be treated closer to their homes but also helped in increasing awareness about cleanliness, hygiene and healthy living.
Senior Medical Officer BSF Dr' Mandeep Singh, Along With MO PHC Bedar Dr' Sakinder Chowdary, Dr Sampada LMO with assistants of BSF conducted the camp. More than 400 patients, including 210 men, 130 women and 60 children were provided free Medical treatment and checkup, by the Medical staff.Pregnant and lactating ladies were educated about the benefits of breast feeding, pre-natal care and the care of newborn babies. Medicines were also distributed among the patients.Importance of safe drinking water, modern day health lifestyle. The Medical camp was well received by the local populace.
Speaking on the occasion on behalf of the locals, Sarpanch of the village expressed his gratitude and appreciation towards the 183 BN BSF for its pledge towards addressing the health problems of the locals. He said that the BSF has always worked towards bringing good.
