Special vehicles for Women during night hours launched

Jammu, Dec 7: District Police Jammu has started Women Police helpline vehicle wherein the said vehicle will remain available for service from 10 pm -5 am at District Police Line. According to Police spokesperson, the purpose of the said vehicle is to ferry a lady/girl free of cost to their destination provided the said girl/lady is alone and on arrival at Railway station or Bus Stand feels insecure to ply in public transport.
"She will always be accompanied by two women police officials. Also in case the girl/lady has boarded public transport or if she's feeling the danger of any kind. In either case, Dail 100 or 1091 will swiftly respond to such calls. The Women helpline vehicle service will start from 08/12/2019 and initially will cater to distress calls within the municipal limits Jammu city", the spokesperson said adding that it would be extended to Rural in the near future.
