Quarterfinals line up drawn in 65th National School games U-17 Boys Volleyball

JAMMU, Dec 11: Jammu and Kashmir created history by, Sealing berth in the last eight stage of the prestigious 65th School National Games under 17 Boys volleyball tournament, being organized by the Directorate of youth Services & Sports, under the aegis of school games federation of india at Khel Gaon Nagrotta, here.
The championship is being held under the overall supervision of Director General of Sports, Dr. Saleem- Ur- Rehman. Today in the pre-quarterfinals, J & K boys displayed extraordinary skills and showed serenity, grit and guts to outplay the opponents. Jammu and Kashmir won the match against Telangina in straight sets 2-0 (27-25, 25-14). The other teams which have qualified for the quarterfinals include Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Uttarakhand, Tamil Nadu, Haryana, Delhi, and Rajasthan. Now, in the quarterfinals J & K will take on mighty Haryana, Uttar Pradesh will face Tamil Nadu, Gujarat will lock horns with Delhi and Uttrakhand will meet Rajasthan. Earlier, in pre-quarterfinals played today, Uttrakhand trounced Chhattisgarh 2-0 (25-14, 25-15), Rajasthan defeated Jharkhand 2-0 (25-18,25-14), Utter Pradesh drubbed KVS 2-0 (25-18,25-18), Delhi outplayed Kerala 2-0 (25-17,25-22), Haryana prevailed over Karnataka 2-0 (25-10,25-14), Tamil Nadu got the better of Punjab 2-1 (25-21,22-25 ,15-09) and Gujarat outclassed Maharashtra 2-0 (25-20,25-17). It is pertinent to mention here that inclement weather conditions have forced the organizers to shift the venue from Khel Gaon Nagrotta to Indoor Complex M.A Stadium for quarter final matches which will be played late in the evenings today.
