Rich tributes paid to warrior General Zorawar Singh

Jammu, Dec 12: Gen Zorawar Singh's martyrdom day was today commemorated in a function organized at Zorawar Chowk, Bahu Plaza.
A large gathering of distinguished senior serving and retired officers of the Army and civil dignitaries paid rich tributes to the brave martyr who extended our frontiers up to China after annexing Gilgit and Baltistan.
Briefing the Ex-Servicemen Maj Gen Goverdhan Singh Jamwal, President of the Ex-Services League explained that on this Day, Gen Zorawar Singh was fighting at Toyo against the Chinese and Tibetans near Manasarovar Lake in Tibet where the temperature today is minus 25 degree. Gen Zorawar Singh is called the Napoleon of the East.
A simple but meticulous function was held with military precision where floral tributes were paid to the great legendry warrior on behalf of Lt Gen YK Joshi, AVSM, VrC, SM, Chief of Staff Northern Command, Col of the JAK RIF & Ladakh Scouts, Maj Gen Sharad Kapur, YSM, SM GOC Tiger Division. Personal tributes were paid by last Dogra General from State Forces Veteran Maj Gen Goverdhan Singh Jamwal, AVSM, Ex MLC, Th Gulchain Singh Charak former Minister, Brig Anil Gupta, Col Dr Virendra K Sahi, VrC. Among the senior serving officers were Col Pavinder Singh and Capt Dara Singh. Many retired and serving personnel added to the grace of the event.
