Early Times Report

JAMMU, Dec 19: Today, Yuva Vichar Manch an organization comprising Research Scholars and Students belonging to different departments of the Jammu university held and academic talk on Citizen Amendment Act 2019 in the University campus.
In the seminar titled "Talk on Citizen amendment Act 2019- Understanding and Implications" the speakers deliberated upon legal and social implications of the CAA 2019.
They said, the CAA is absolutely in consistency with the basic principles of the constitutions of India and do not infringes the rights of any Citizen of India, which is unfortunately propagated by the same elements who are hell bent to defame the Country on every issue and are being paid for such a fake and malicious campaign.
Advocate, Dewaker Sharma in his address also cited article 14 of the constitution that allows the State to enact laws and do not bar any reasonable classification. He said the government's decision to enact CAA would provide relief to persecuted minorities from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan where Hindus, Sikhs, Christians and Jains are not even allowed to perform their religious rites and rituals.
While interacting with the students, advocate Deepak Sharma said those pseudo-Seculars who otherwise claim themselves to be the real champion of Human Rights are unnecessarily making hue and cry when the real victims and minorities of our three neighbouring countries are being allowed by government to get citizenship of India.
He also said no bonafide citizen of India need to be afraid of either CAA or NRC, National Register for Citizens. Several other Scholars and students also spoke in the seminar. Concluding the program, the vote of thanks was presented by Vishal, Law students of JU.
