Early Times Report

Poonch, Dec 18: Under much hyped scheme to provide uniforms to the poor students studying in government schools in all eleven blocks of this border district free of cost are said to be of sub standard in quality fabric with multiple stitching defects sources said here today.
They said this year the uniforms made for the students studying in government schools were of no use. On the count of measurement and fitting an imaginary works was done as a result not a single student got his or her uniform up to the mark.
Somewhere length of the trouser was less and some where width of shirt was too loose hence pointing fingers towards the education department for its lackadaisical approach which caused wastage of money, labour and time.
Several parents raised questions that why stitched uniforms without taking a proper measurement were distributed among students in spite whey they did not give them cloth and have asked to sew it on their own?
It is pertinent to mention that before it, the process was followed to constitute a committee which confirm the rates of the cloth then purchases were being made and simultaneously the cloth distributed among the students and afterwards they sent it for stitching of their own the funds for the purpose were usually made available to all Zonal Education officer by the CEO and simultaneously were forwarded to concerned head masters of the schools, but this time the process was not followed for reasons best known to men and helms.
Several parents while talking to Early Times expressed anguish over the move which was nothing than wastage of money by the school Education department. They alleged that an inquiry in this regard should be ordered and anybody found guilty must be brought into the book.
Meanwhile Early Times Correspondent despite repeated calls to Chief Education officer Poonch and his deputy failed to take a call for comments.
