NAAC organizes two day workshop on preparation of J&K's accreditation report

JAMMU, Dec 19: National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) today organized a two day workshop on preparation of accreditation report of Jammu and Kashmir at Government PG College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu. The objective of the workshop was to discuss the accreditation report to be prepared by the Higher Education Institutes of Union Territory of J&K. Academic Consultant, NAAC, Dr. Srikanta Swamy, presented a comprehensive detail about the programme objectives and the expected outcome. Reflecting on the workshop, Senior Communication cum Publication Officer, NAAC, Dr Wahidul Hassan, elaborately highlighted the revised procedure for preparing NAAC Report. He motivated the non-accreditated institutions to come forward for accreditation and stressed upon the need to speed up the process of accreditation. Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu, Prof. Manoj Kumar Dhar, highlighted the efforts of the NAAC Committee and stressed upon the importance of accreditation. Secretary, Higher Education Department, Talat Parvez Rohella appreciated the NAAC team for facilitating the discussion through their workshop. He also threw light on the current accreditation status of various higher Educational Institutions of J&K and emphasized mentoring of these institutions by the NAAC team to facilitate the process of accreditation. Director Colleges, Higher Education Department, Yaseen Ahmed Shah, also spoke on the subject. The inaugural session ended with vote of thanks presented by Nodal Principal, Government PG College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, Dr. Ravinder Kumar Tickoo.
