Early Times Report

JAMMU, Dec 19: The book titled "Jammu and Kashmir Breaking the Subversive Web and A Way Forward" by Dr Mahesh Kaul was released here today at the Press Club of Jammu. The book is a scholarly work documenting the jihadi challenge being faced by the nationalists in Jammu and Kashmir. lt delves at length on the national security issues that need to be addressed in the Northern Frontier to uphold the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the nation. Strategic thinkers of national and international repute have contributed their papers in the book.
The book was released by Ravinder Raina, President, BJP, Jammu and Kashmir who was chief guest on the occasion. While speaking on the occasion, he said," This book is a comprehensive document that challenges the false narrative on Jammu and Kashmir to give illegitimate space to the subversives who were being patronized by the state and allowed to wreck the Indian nation from the state. The truth about the nationalist people of Jammu and Kashmir was never told. What we witnessed in 1990 in terms of the religious cleansing of Kashmiri Pandits is clear case of genocide."
Sham Lal Shrama, former Minister and senior BJP leader, who was the guest of honour on the occasion said," We have witnessed tremendous onslaught on the nationalist forces in Jammu and Kashmir and this was being done by the forces inimical to the unity and integrity of India. Terrorism based on religious extremism has damaged the social fabric of the state and created a policy paralysis due to the myopic policies of the erstwhile regimes who gave free ground to the subversives."
Dr Mahesh Kaul, who has conceived the book said, "Jammu and Kashmir is the frontline of Indian nation that has stood as the bulwark against the fissiparous tendencies in the dismantling of the Northern Frontier of India/The enemies of the nation who worked well beyond independence and partition of the nation in 1947 have a well defined agenda to balkanize it. In order to implement the project of balkanization to the next stage the Anglo-Muslim alliance that partitioned India innovated an idea of creation of a Muslim state within the political geography of India that was nurtured by the special provisions of Indian Constitution by giving a free hand to project Muslim communalism as the acceptance of secularism. This book blows into smithereens the jihadi agenda of subversion."
Contributors to the anthology who spoke on the occasion include Dr Ajay Chrungoo, Chairman, Panun Kashmir, Yuvraj Gupta, Col Yoginder Kandhari Col J P Singh (strategic experts), Rajan Gandhi, an eminent columnist.
