FCR reviews digitization of Land Records under DILRM programme

JAMMU, Dec 26: Financial Commissioner Revenue, Dr. Pawan Kotwal, today reviewed the progress on writing/ updation of Jamabandis in Jammu district as part of the digitization of Land Records under Digital India Land Records Modernization Programme (DILRMP).
He took a detailed review of the progress made in 12, out of 22 Tehsils of District Jammu. The progress of digitization of land records was reviewed in North, Bhalwal, Jammu South, Bahu, Mandal, Arnia, Bishnah, Jammu, Jammu West, Nagrota and Dansal.
It was apprised that out of 400 Jamabandies in these Tehsils, 216 have been updated and deposited, 26 digitized, while 184 are pending. The remaining Jamabandies are under progress and would be completed in due course, the meeting was told further.
Speaking at the meeting, the FCR directed the concerned officers and revenue officers to meet the deadline and complete the digitization process at the earliest, so that all the scanned documents were updated.
He appreciated the work of the writing and updation of jamabandies, which had been completed and also stressed on the tehsils, lagging behind, to gear up the pace of work to achieve the set target. Dr. Kotwal also directed the officials to ensure all required support to the concerned for expediting the process of scanning further for its timely completion. He further said that the Revenue Land Records play an important role in all developmental activities of various allied departments, so Jamabandies written and updated should be error free. He further asked the concerned officials to ensure monitoring of the data to create an error free digitized record within the stipulated time frame. The meeting was attended by ADC Jammu, Dr Tahir Firdous; Regional Director Jammu, Dr Mushtaq Ahmad; ACR Jammu, Vijay Kumar; SDM North, Satish Kumar; SDM South, Shrikant; besides Tehsildars, Naib Tehsildars and officials of the concerned department.
