12/29/2019 10:13:09 PM

Agencies
New Delhi, Dec 29: The alert soldiers averted a terror strike on an operational army track in the Kerni sector of the Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir, on Sunday.
"The army averted a terror attack at 4 p.m. by diffusing an improvised explosive device (IED) planted on the operational track," Lieutenant Colonel Devender Anand told.
Had there been any movement on the track, a major blast could have happened, he added.
Meanwhile, according to defence sources, there was a hour-long firing across the LoC. No casualty or damages have been reported on the Indian side.
Northern Army Commander Lieutenant General Ranbir Singh has visited and reviewed security situation in Kashmir. He also visited forward areas in the Baramulla district where he was briefed by commanders on ground.
Security preparations have been tightened on the brand new yr resulting from the opportunity of terrorist infiltration from throughout the border. Security businesses have saved their intelligence system on alert for the subsequent three days. Police together with paramilitary forces have tightened safety from the border to the freeway. The freeway has been deployed to patrol the safety forces. For the subsequent three days, cops may even be current of their respective areas. They have been requested to not depart the station.
Tight safety preparations have been made on the National Highway from Lakhanpur to Udhampur.
Apart from the prevailing ones, some further blocks have been put in. Apart from this, police and paramilitary forces have been deployed in all areas connecting the town to the outskirts of Samba, Kathua, Jammu, Rajori and Poonch districts. There is a risk of infiltration from throughout the border underneath the duvet of fog in these areas.
