Sports Department to build stadium at Bandurakh

Jammu, Jan 4: Youth and Sports Department started works to build a stadium on 32 kanals of land in Badhurkh of Bavaliyana Panchayat at a cost of 1.50 crores.
The work started in the presence of the former chairman of Jammu Municipal Corporation Satish Sharma Local Panch Ravindra Singh Raju and former Naib Sarpanch Satnam Singh Kaka.
Satish Sharma said that this was an old demand of the people of the area that a the stadium should be built here. He told that former Youth and Sports Minister Raman Bhalla approved the stadium here back in 2014 and its work started but after that the government in the state changed and PDP BJP government stopped it.
But once again our local Panch Ravindra Singh Raju raised the issue prominently to get the stadium working again to the authorities in the first phase of back to village program after completing the survey of the stadium. After this, former minister Raman Bhalla also intervened in this and talked to several officials of the department to resume this work and today due to their efforts, the work of the stadium has started again.
He said that this stadium was in great need by the youth of the area as the youth and children either had to go all the way to MMA Stadium in Jammu to do the practice because there are no sports ground around for many kilometers.
While congratulating the local people, he also thanked the XEN and other officials of the department and many dignitaries of the area including Harvinder Pal Singh Taran Deep Sanju, Tejendra Singh Raju who were present on the occasion.
