DIC Ramban organises awareness camp at Khari, Banihal

RAMBAN, Jan 4: District Industries Centre Ramban launched an awareness campaign in district to give impetus to the industrial development activity in the district besides educating the people especially youth about self employment opportunities in different sectors.
As a part of awareness campaign General Manager, DIC, Ramban Vishwa Jeet presided over the two awareness camps at Khari and Banihal whereas Tehsildar Khari, Ashok Chakaraborty, Functional Managers, DIC, Harpal Singh, PRIs, officials of education and revenue departments participated in the program.
Speaking on the occasion at Khari, GM, DIC appraised the people on various developmental schemes run by the industries department. He highlighted the importance of PMEGP scheme in providing subsidies to small ventures for budding entrepreneurs of the area. Further, the business community was advised to develop their core strengths and focus on horticulture related activities like food processing and packaging of horticulture produce.
On the occasion, officers and experts shared their experiences with participants to encourage them to start apiculture farming besides availing benefits of schemes launched by the different departments for entrepreneurs and unemployed youth.
The audience and the PRIs present on the occasion lauded the effort of all the government departments in the development of the area and requested that more such events should be held at regular intervals in the area.
