Dept of EVS JU organizes alumni meet

Jammu, Jan 21: The Department of Environmental Sciences, University of Jammu organised its first alumni meet. The event was organized at Brigadier Rajinder Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu. The occasion witnessed the presence of Prof. S.P.S Dutta, Chief guest of the function, teaching faculty members of the Department of Environmental Sciences Prof. Raj Kumar Rampal (Head of the department), Prof. Anil Kumar Raina, Dr. Sanjay Sharma, Dr. Piyush Malaviya, Dr. Dr. Neeraj Sharma and Dr. Meenakshi Khajuria and Rakesh Kumar Atri, along with numerous alumni from civil administration, academics and private sector who came from different parts of the country and abroad.
The program started on an auspicious note with lighting the lamp ceremony followed by the inaugural address presented by Prof. Raj Kumar Rampal, Head of the Department followed by introductory remarks from Dr. Rakesh Kumar Atri, coordinator of the event. Senior faculty members Prof. S.P.S Dutta and Prof. Anil Kumar Raina addressed the gathering with their words of wisdom. They acknowledged and appreciated the contributions of alumni in bringing laurels to the department and also call upon their involvement in expanding the department’s current out reach goals, programs, and activities intended towards a clean and healthy environment.
A healthy interactive session was also conducted were senior Alumni of the department rekindled their old memories and inspired the young students and scholars.
