DDC Kathua conducts public outreach programme; visits firing range | | | Early Times Report KATHUA, FEB 12:- District Development Commissioner, O P Bhagat, today conducted public outreach programmes at Chak Sajjan and Mah villages to listen public grievances besides assessing the status of development works and availability of essential supplies and services in the area. Earlier, the DDC visited the small arms field firing range at village Kootha to interact with the villagers and listened to their issues. The villagers informed the DDC that they have no problem in testing small arms in this field range but they strongly objected to test heavy arms as number of health issues cropped up in the past during the use of heavy arms in this field range. The people apprised the DDC about various demands and problems being faced by them including shortage of drinking water, irregular power supply, correction of ration cards, up gradation and blacktopping of roads, construction of lane & drains, boundary wall of school, tractor roads and conservation of natural water bodies. Responding to the public issues raised by the people DDC assured that all issues projected by them would be taken into consideration and every effort would be made to ensure a convenient and friendly atmosphere for all to meet their demands. On the spot instructions were passed to the Executive Engineer, PHE to resolve the issues concerning supply of drinking water. BDO was directed to prepare DPR in consultation with Panchayat to conserve the water bodies and beautification work around the ponds. CEO was directed to repair the school building and construct boundary wall around the school building where it is required. ADC Kathua, Atul Gupta, BDO, SDM Hiranagar, Engineers and other concerned officers accompanied the DDC during the visit. |
