Jammu and Kashmir lead by 49 runs on day 2 stumps

JAMMU, Feb 13: With two days and two innings to play the Ranji match between Jammu & Kashmir and Haryana is equally poised, which is being played at Govt. Gandhi Memorial Science College ground, Jammu.
Jammu and Kashmir scored 340 runs on day one stumps losing all the wickets. Haryana on other batted whole day and scored 291 runs courtesy Pramod Chandila’s 119 run’s that took game at interesting position.
With Jammu and Kashmir playing last game of the season and maintaining top position on Elite Group C, host J&K showed nerves. On second day of the Ranji Match, Mujtaba Yousuf who took six wickets gave the early break for Jammu and Kashmir.
He took the second wicket of C K Bishnoi, when Haryana were on the score of 41 runs. Y R Sharma was next to go thanks to Auqib Nabi good length ball. Three quick wickets were followed by 120 runs partnership between Ankit Kumar and Pramod Chandila, which took Haryana in comfortable position.
Ankit Kumar scored 63 runs in 126 balls, hitting 7 boundaries and one 6. Pramod Chandila played a match saving knock of 119 runs. In latter half of the game, captain R P Sharma showed some decency and scored 41 runs, but that was not enough as Haryan fell short of 49 runs in first innings.
Haryana scored 291 runs in 89.1 over’s at a strike rate of 3.26 runs. For Jammu and Kashmir, Mujtaba Yousuf took six wickets in 12.1 over’s and conceded 49 runs with an economy of 4.03 runs. Abid Mushtaq and Auqib Nabi took two wickets each.
Earlier on day one, Jammu and Kashmir scored 340 runs on day one stumps losing the wickets. But a late breakthrough by Abid Mushtaq gave host Jammu and Kashmir important lead in the game. A win against Haryana will book Jammu and Kashmir place into quarterfinals of the Ranji Match.
