DDC reviews progress of work on NH-244 road project

UDHAMPUR, FEB 29: District Development Commissioner (DDC), Udhampur Dr Piyush Singla today convened a meeting with officers, contractors and representatives of executing agencies to review the progress of work on NH-244 project from Chenani to Sudhmahadev at Mini Conference Hall DC Office Complex Udhampur.
The meeting was attended by Sub Divisional Magistrate, Chenani, Abdul Sattar, Executive Engineer PWD, Pawan Kumar, GM NHIDCL, R.P Mishra, Tehsildar Chenani, Ajay Saraf, AD Planning, Anil Sharma and other officers of various departments besides Contractors and representatives of NHIDCL. Detailed discussions were held on various issues which include Automatic parking proposed at Patnitop, estimation of utilities coming in the alignment of road, status of land acquisition on re-aligned stretches, expediting physical progress to meet timelines etc were discussed in detail. While reviewing the progress of work, the DDC asked the executing agencies for updating daily progress of the project and share the achievements with district Administration. The DDC directed SDM for demolishing the structures coming in the alignment of NH-244.
GM NHIDCL gave a brief about the progress of the project. The DDC expressed anguish over slow progress of work and the contractors were asked to expedite the process of ongoing developmental works and complete within given time line. The DDC issued instructions to executing agencies to gear up the men and machinery in coordination with other departments so that targets can be achieved within the given timeframe time. He instructed the construction agencies to strictly adhere to quality specifications and directed all officers to ensure close monitoring of quality of work. He asked the construction agencies to put in their best efforts to achieve the targets.
