Deputy Commissioner reviews Kisan Credit Card, stresses for 100% coverage

JAMMU, Feb 29: Deputy Commissioner Jammu Ms. Sushma Chauhan, today held a meeting of Agriculture Department and representatives of all the Banks of District to review the progress of KCC coverage in the District. An earlier meeting in this regard was held on 12/02/2020 in which time lines for different activities under KCC were finalized by DC Jammu. Assistant Commissioner Revenue Jammu, District Informatics Officer Jammu, Chief Agriculture Officer Jammu, Lead Bank Officer, Sub Divisional Agriculture Officers and representatives of all Banks were present in the meeting.
Chief Agriculture Officer Jammu informed that the entire list of PM KISAN beneficiaries was provided to the banks as per the timeline and the Banks have also verified and returned the list of farmers who have not availed KCC facility from the Bank. However, there might be a certain number of cases who have their PM KISAN bank account in one bank and KCC account in another Bank, which will be verified by agriculture staff during the field visit.
Deputy Commissioner Jammu also issued instructions to Assistant Commissioner Revenue Jammu for further issuing instructions to Sub Divisional Magistrates of the District to assist the agriculture staff in verifying the land holding of individuals farmers, which is mandatory for issuing KCC by Banks. A detailed roster will be prepared by the agriculture department and provided to revenue department for deploying the revenue staff accordingly at Block level. Minimum of 30 panchayats perday need to be covered for saturating farmers in all blocks of the District.
It was decided that by 10th March 2020, all eligible farmers who have been covered under PM KISAN and have not yet availed KCC facility, will be covered under KCC.
Deputy Commissioner Jammu once again stressed upon all the Stake Holders to ensure 100% KCC saturation of all farmers by 30th March 2020. The left out target over and above 84228 will be covered by 30th March 2020 to achieve 100% KCC saturation in the District. Deputy Commissioner Jammu desired to review the progress further in this regard on 12th March 2020.
