“Sanrakshan” a 3-Day International Conference on Water Conservation begins

Udhampur, Feb 29: Talat Parvez Rohella, Secretary to Govt., Higher Education Department said that the need of the hour is to derive strategies to maintain balance between our needs Vis-à-vis the Nature.
He accentuated upon developing the techniques to mitigate the challenges with viable solutions for the conservation and preservation of water to sustain life in present and for future too. He was speaking on the occasion of inauguration of three day International Conference on Water Conservation at Govt. Degree College Udhampur in which hundreds of delegates from across the Country and abroad assembled in the college to deliberate, discuss and evolve the methodologies for conservation of water.
In the Inaugural Rohella, was the Chief Guest whereas Pardeep Dutta, Bureau Chief Times Now, DDC Udhampur Dr. Piyush Singla, Rajiv Pandey, SSP Udhampur, Padam Shree C. Norphel, the Glacier Man of India and Sohail Kazmi were amongst the other diginitaries who shared the dais with Chief Guest in the inaugural event.
Delivering the keynote address Dr. Piyush Singla talked in entirety about the theme of the conference and put on record the problems and the solutions thereto for the preservation of environment to conserve water. He was of the view that though no rocket-science could ever mitigate the problems of the scarcity and pollution of water, yet small efforts at individual level can achieve goals which are only visualized today. He apprised all present about the success of “Jeevika Model” for Water Conservation and Sustainable farming initiated by District Administration Udhampur.
The keynote was followed by the deliberation of Pardeep Dutta, Bureau Chief Times Now News Channel, wherein he talked in length about the water Crisis Scenario Vis-à-vis Water politics with special reference to Indus water treaty. On this occasion books written by Dr. Ved Kumar of Chemistry and the one authored by Dr. Rupali Sharma, Department of English were also released.
Earlier Principal Prof. (Dr). Nutan Kumar Resutra welcome all present wherein he expressed his gratitude to all the dignitaries, delegates, research scholars, academicians and participants for joining this event and informed the audience that it’s the only Govt. Degree College Udhampur which is organizing an academic event of this magnitude where hundreds of delegates and experts from across the Country and Abroad have assembled to present their research findings.
