JAMMU, Feb 29: ICDS Project, Gandhinagar, today held an awareness camp on the theme Exclusive Breastfeeding and Complementary Feeding of Children at Community Hall, Gandhinagar here.
CDPO, Gandhinagar, Gourav Gupta, Counsellers of Ward No. 19 & 48, Amit Gupta and Sham Lal, besides large number of women and children participated in the awareness programme.
During the event, information was provided to the participants about the importance of exclusive breastfeeding of children for 6 months after the birth of child and the benefits of the same for both the children and the mother.
A session on complementary feeding of children was taken wherein the participants were told how to initiate complementary feeding in children after they have attained the age of 6 months and also kind of food to be provided to the children. The participants were also made aware about the services being provided by Anganwadi Centres in their respective areas. The Counsellors and the CDPO talked about the benefits of breastfeeding during the programme. |
