IIMCAA awards scholarship to Vijayata Sharma of IIMC Jammu

JAMMU, Feb 29: Feb.29: In a simple but impressive function held at IIMC Campus Jammu, the Indian Institute of Mass Communication Alumni Association, IIMCAA, presented a scholarship of Rs 25 thousands to Vijayata Sharma, student of English Journalism in Jammu campus.
The function named as "Connections 2020" was presided over by the Regional Director of Indian Institute of Mass Communication, Jammu campus, Manohar Khajuria. The Central Committee Member of IIMCAA, Mudit Sharma was also present on the occasion.
In his address, the Regional Director appreciated the efforts of IIMCAA in encouraging the students of IIMC Campuses by offering them awards and scholarships. He said such initiatives by the Association will go a long way in supporting and helping the budding journalists of this premier institution. While IIMC is taking all efforts to make the budding journalist professionally equipped, such initiatives of IIMCAA will inspire the students for taking association to further heights. He further stated that Jammu campus is performing excellent at all India level securing four first positions as against seven batches passed so far. He congratulated Vijayata on this occasion for this scholarship.
Speaking on the occasion, Mudit Sharma said IIMCAA has started these scholarships from the last year for the IIMC students and this year 27 scholarships are being given to the students of Delhi, Amaravati, Kottayam, Aizwal, Dhenkanal and Jammu. He said IIMCAA also gives awards to alumni of IIMC working in different media houses every year in 35 categories. The amount of each award ranges from Rs 21 thousands to Rs 51 thousands, he added. Mr Sharma further said that IIMCAA holds annual meets of IIMC alumni all over the country and outside the country also so that they could remain connected to one another.
Among others, faculty members of IIMC Jammu, Dr Anubhav Mathur and Sanjit Khajuria were also present on the occasion.
