Court awards life-imprisonment, fine of Rs One lakh to murderer of teenager

JAMMU, Feb 29: Additional Sessions Judge Anantnag Khalil Ahmad Choudhary today awarded life-imprisonment and fine of one lakh rupees to one Nasir Ahmad Sheikh R/o Jaibal Veeri Bijbehara who murderer a teenager.
According to the police case that FIR No.08/2014 was registered in Police Station Anantnag under section 302 RPC. Spot inspection of the place of occurrence was conducted and accordingly site map was prepared.
Dead body was seized and from the pocket of dead body admission receipt from Govt Girls Higher secondary School Bijbehara was recovered, whereby it was ascertained that the dead body was of Iqra Nisar R/o Ladibal Bijbehara.
After preparing memo of identification dead body was sent to District Hospital Anantnag where team of doctors in presence of Executive Magistrate conducted the post mortem of the dead body and photography was also conducted. During the course of investigation statements of witnesses were recorded and offence under section 302 RPC was found to have been committed. After this, search for the accused was done and during the process accused was taken into custody u/s 54 Cr.P.C for preliminary investigation and was formally arrested on 03/02/2014.
During investigation accused accepted that he took the deceased from BFI Coaching centre and tied her neck with a tree by "dupatta". He disclosed that he took school bag of the deceased and threw it in a river at Anchidora. The Additional Sessions Judge Anatanag after hearing both the sides observed that murder by itself is a serious crime but the manner in which it was committed and the motive behind the murder do indicate that it would not fall within the rare category of the cases. The judge while finding the accused as guilty convicted him under section 302/ RPC and sentenced him to simple imprisonment for life and imposed a fine of rupees one lakh.
