Early Times Report

JAMMU, Mar 30: In an unprecedented situation that has arisen due to COVID-19, several initiatives were taken by the Union Government as well as the Government of J&K Union Territory while they also issued many guidelines to deal with the existing situation, however, the Doda district administration has made a complete mess of all the instructions and procedures passed on so far.
The district Doda administration's follies could be gauged from the fact that as many as 70 people who have been kept in isolation at Town Hall Doda are seemingly on a picnic and not under isolation.
As per the details available with Early Times, Doda administration has established around 80 quarantine centers in the district which include schools, hostel buildings and Town Hall Doda where all the guidelines need to be put in place are being violated.
The video footage accessed by the Early Times had established the callous attitude of the Doda administration in tackling the people who had been put under isolation on the basis of their travel history or on the bases of the links established with any suspect.
The pictures shows that all the people who were put under isolation at Town Hall Doda are venturing openly, mingling with each other, sitting together and sharing a single bathroom.
The sources told the Early Times that Doda Town Hall has a single hall with only one bathroom adding that the administration has not made any bifurcation of the hall and without any preparation put around 70 people into isolation at this center.
The authorities without taking into account that it will be a catastrophe in case anyone among those kept inside this quarantine center is infected with the dreaded virus. Besides, this gross negligence could prove fatal for two ISM Doctors, 11 Paramedical staff, one Nodal Officer, a JE of PDD and two employees of Doda Municipality who had been kept to look after these people.
The sources also told the Early Times that the medical staff deputed at this quarantine center is not well equipped and well trained to deal with any medical emergency.
In the pictures available with Early Times, the people can be seen roaming free in groups and in close contact with each other outside the quarantine facility center which also create doubts in the minds of the people living in the vicinity of this quarantine facility center and put their lives at risk.
Some relatives of the isolators blame the administration for their failure in making proper arrangements for the people kept in isolation and also failure in following the norms and guidelines.
They urged upon the higher authorities to take note of the lapses on part of the district administration while dealing with the isolation facility centers as their relatives kept inside this isolation center are vulnerable to infection.
