Youth Cong flays Govt for disengaging Safaikaramcharis, seeks reinstatement
5/4/2020 9:28:40 PM

EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, May 4: Jammu & Kashmir Pradesh Youth Congress (JKPYC) has expressed resentment against the Jammu Municipal Corporation for disengaging the Safaikaramcharis from their services, seeking immediate reinstatement all of them.
Briefing media persons, Uday Chib, President JKPYC, said all such engagements were made by following a right process and family of such Safaikaramcharis are dependent on them as they are source of their livelihood.
Chib said that termination of Safaikaramcharis amid COVID-19 crisis without any prior notice was unethical, especially at the time when they are being worked as frontline workers to fight this pandemic. He lambasted J&K Government for snatching the livelihood of Safaikaramcharis at a time when they were needed the most as frontline respondents to fight the battle against deadly Coronavirus in J&K. Chib further said that in order to fight the deadly Coronavirus disease, we need to have a strong and adequate manpower and on the contrary administration is issuing orders of disengaging of Safaikaramcharis when the Municipal Corporation is already running on crutches, thus putting the lives of people at stake.
Urging the Lt Governor to personally intervene and serve directions for revocation of such termination orders, Chib said that instead of disengaging the Safaikaramcharis, the Governor led administration should regularize all of them without wasting any timein view of present scenario.
Ricky Dalotra JKPYC Gen Secretary and Anirudh AYC president Jammu West were also present in the conference.
