People of Neel rued 16 hours long power cuts

Banihal, May 4: The people of Neel and Adjoining areas of Banihal Sub Division has rued the 16 hours long power cuts during the ongoing holly month of Ramadan.
As per the details available with Early Times, the residents of Neel area of Banihal are aghast over the defamatory and unsolicited attitude of Power Development Department over regular and untimely power cuts which results in unavailability of power supply for hours altogether, particularly during Iftar and Sehri time. People said that as and when they approach the concern officials including AEE PDD of the area gives lamb excuse of inadequate staff as a reason for all this while at the same time the field staff of the department always have an excuse of “line fault” which is not good enough reason to believe that keep people in dark even during the holy month of Ramadan.
The locals alleged that some officials in the department of PDD even use abusive language with the people as and when they question them.
“They use the words like “hell with you"— what is the fun having 900 MW Baghliar Power Project at the door step of people of the area were denied the electricity even during the holly month of Ramadan “said a local added that the Baghliar Power Project is generating electricity since last over 10 years now, but people of the Neel which is hardly few Kilometres away from this Union Territory owned project are spending days and nights in darkness.
The people urged upon the government as well as local administration to get the issue of huge power cuts which is upto 16 hours in a day resolved and people who are paying full electricity rent may be provided with the regular supply of electricity.
