Online interaction of Kindergarten teachers with NCERT faculty organized

Jammu, May 9: The Directorate of School Education, Jammu is organising 15-day online orientation workshop for teachers engaged in government’s model Kindergartens.
Around 60 teachers from whole of the Jammu division are undergoing training in NCERT’s Preschool curriculum. Through this workshop, they are being acquainted with curriculum content as well as pedagogies specific to Preschool education.
Director School Education Jammu Anuradha Gupta divulged that Preschools or Kindergartens are a new introduction in government schools of the division and hence the teachers engaged with teaching kindergarten kids need to be equipped to deal with this age group.
This workshop therefore aims at building up a better understanding of pre-school pedagogy among these participating teachers. In order to orient these teachers through best resource available in country, Directorate of School Education, Jammu has organised online interaction of participants with NCERT, Resource persons namely Prof. Reetu Chandra and Prof. Usha Sharma from department of Elementary Education, NCERT, New Delhi. Experts enlightened participants with various strategies/ methodology specific to teaching Preschool kids. Active involvement on the part of participants is being witnessed throughout the sessions. Jaswinder Kour and Dr. Sareeta Sharma are coordinating this workshop with active support from Sohail Wani, DRG.
