JAMMU, May 29:A meeting of Jagti Tenement Committee was held here today under the chairmanship of its president Shadi Lal Pandita president in which various issues relating to Kashmiri Pandit community in general were highlighted . Pandita said that J&K as well as central government have failed on all fronts in mitigating sufferings of uprooted community ,adding for the last six years the community ihas been regularly urging the central government to enhance the monthly cash assistance of migrants as it was impossible to feed the family on such a meager amount keeping in view the inflation in the market.
He said present economical condition of KP migrants was disturbing as such migrant families are unable to cope up with the routine problems and fulfill the basic requirements. Therefore, government is requested to immediately announce some special economic package for Kashmiri migrants and enhance the monthly cash assistance from Rs13000 to Rs 25000 per family . Pandita said that each and every migrant family has been suffering yearly loss of Rs 4 lakh due to damages and losses to their properties in Kashmir valley as such compensation proportionately to the damages /losses suffered needs to be granted to the migrants for past 30 years of migration @ Rs 1crore per family at one time in lump sum. Ensure implementation of Prime Minister’s employment package and sanction of additional 20000 posts for Kashmiri Pandit migrant educated youth .for ensuring employment to the youth. Those who were present in the meeting include P L Thusoo chairman of JTC and soan Kashmir Front, Sunil Koul, H K Pandita, S L Kar. Satesh Kumar, Ramesh Bhat. Pintu Ji, Ram Saran, Chand Ji Patwari and others.
