Handwara Police busted Pakistan sponsored Narco-Terror module

KUPWARA, June 11: Police on Thursday claimed to have busted a Pakistan sponsored narco terror module in Handwara and arrested three Lasher-e-Toiba militant associates in this regard.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Handwara, Dr G V Sundeep Chakravarthy in a press conference said that three Lasher-e-Toiba militant associates were held and 21 kg heroine with a market value of 100 crore and one crore cash of Indian currency was recovered from their possession.
Since two weeks inputs were received about this module and today this module was busted after a lot of efforts, SP Handwara in a press conference said.
He further said that, on a reliable information, Handwara Police have busted a Pakistan sponsored Narco- terror module and arrested three terrorist associates of prescribed terror outfit LeT identified as, Ab Moomin Peer S/o Late Mohd Ashraf Peer R/o Waskura Handwara, Islam Ul Haq Peer S/o Mohd Ashraf Peer R/o Waskura Handwara, Syed Iftikhar Indrabi S/o Syed Ateequlla Indrabi R/o Laribal Rajwar Handwara from Handwara.
While one among the three arrested, namely Iftikar Indrabi is the main accused and he is a notorious smuggler in Handwara district already FIR was registered against him.
Incriminating materials, including cash Rs.1.34 crores and narcotic substance Heroine 21kg (worth 100 Cr. Market value) and 01 cash counting machine, Debit cards were recovered from their possession, the police official said.
The other absconded involved persons have been identified and efforts are being taken to arrest.
The module was in close connection with Pakistan based terror handlers and was involved in drug trade & assisting financially to active terrorists of proscribed terror outfit LeT. The recoveries also exposed the inter connection between drug dealers and terrorists.
Dr Sundeep also said that the module was working for LeT outfit to strengthen their activities in the valley and were mis-guiding and motivating the local youth of the Valley to join militant ranks.
A Case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Handwara and investigation has been taken up.
A special investigation Team (SIT) has been constituted to ascertain the details of the accused and his ties with terrorist outfits, radicals, smugglers and other anti national elements, SSP Handwara added.
