Road accidents kill 34 persons in 26 days of June

SRINAGAR, June 27: In the last 26 days, 34 persons lost their lives in road accidents across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
Giving details one of the traffic officials said that on June 4 a road mishap took place in North Kashmir's Pattan village when a tractor turned turtle resulting in death of one person while in the mishap two persons were injured.
The deceased was identified as Ghulam Hassan Khan son of Abdul Ahad Khan of Wanigam Bala.
He said on June 7, a 35-year-old woman was killed in a road accident at Kanewan area of Bijbehara area of South Kashmir's Anantnag district, who was identified as Shaheena wife of Nisar Ahmad Bhat of Banderpora Anantnag. “On June 8 one person was killed while two others were injured in Delina village of north Kashmiri's Baramulla district. The deceased was identified as Mohammad Sadiq Pandith son of Mohammad Akbar Pandith of Hamray Sopore. On June 9, a youth was killed in Chadoora road mishap in central Kashmir's Budgam district, who was identified as Waseem Farooq son of Farooq Ahmad Wani of Monchwa Chadoora”.
He said on June 9, a 40-year-old woman was killed in a road accident at Kokernag area of South Kashmir's Ananthnag district identified as Kulsoma wife of Mohammad Yousuf Wani of Vailoo Kokernag. “On June 10, a 22-year-old youth identified as Likayat Ahmad Chechi son of Nazir Ahmad Chechi of Fraw Ganderbal was killed in a road mishap in central Kashmir. On June 11, an army soldier was killed while another was injured in a road mishap at Ranga Pass along Srinagar-Leh highway in Central Kashmir's Ganderbal district. The deceased was identified as Karan Singh of Nagrota Jammu”.
The official further said that on June 1, injured Chadoora lady succumbed at SKIMS identified as Dilshada wife of Naseer Ahmad Raina of Hasipora Chadoora.
“On June 11, Army soldier killed in Chakwali Tulail Gurez road mishap identified as Subedar Yamaha Kumar. On June 16 a 20-year-old youth of Bandpora was killed in Hyderpora Srinagar, in the mishap one person was also injured. The deceased was identified as Yaseen Ahmad Khan son of Farooq Ahmad Khan of Suderkoot Bandipora”.
On June 18, two teenage girls were killed in Kalali area of Rajouri road mishap. The deceased identified as Aneesa Qayoom daughter of Mohammad Qayoom , Maymoona Akhter daughter of Razak Ahamd both residents of Deri Ralyote village of Manjakote.
He added that on June 19, six persons were killed in a road mishap in Chenab valley, all identified as Sandeep Kumar, a driver, son of Prem Singh, Rajesh Kumar, Ravinder Kumar, Rakesh Kumar , Jabbar Singh and Manjeet Kumar. On June 19, a woman was killed in Pahalgam area of South Kashmir's Anantnag district, the deceased woman identified as Begum Jan wife of Ghulam Hassan Shah. On June 23, Biker killed in Kulgam road mishap identified as Suhail Naik son of Mohammad Sikander Niak.
On June 23, Scooty rider killed in Sogam Lolab in north Kashmir's Kupwara district identified as Mohammad Ashraf Lone. On June 24, one killed two injured in Ramban road mishap the deceased was identified as Kehar Singh”.
“On June 25, six persons were killed in Kishtwar road mishap identified all as Muni Dewi, Kailasha Devi, Ananika Devi, Sushalni, Sonashi. On June 25, a teacher died in Uri road mishap identified as Zulfiqar Ali Khawaja. On June 26, five persons killed in Doda road mishap identified”.
