Early Times Report

Jammu, July 5: Annoyed with the jurisdictional control of Tehsil Supply Officer (TSO) Drabshalla laying with the Assistant Director Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) Department Doda, the people of Tehsil Drabshalla and Bhunzwah of Kishtwar District having population of more than 40000 have demanded immediate transfer of administrative control of TSO Drabshalla with Assistant Director FCS&CA Department Kishtwar.
Speaking to Early Times, the local inhabitants of Tehsil Drabshalla and Bhunzwah in Kishtwar District said that they are facing lot of problem while dealing with the issues pertaining to ration supply as well as ration card as the people had to travel to Doda for minor issues pertaining to supply of ration in the area while they are the residents of Kishtwar District.
They said that the people of the area often visit District Headquarter Kishtwar pertaining to various issues while for issue pertaining to FCS&CA department for which they have to travel to Doda which is a very difficult for the people of these areas since majority of the people living in Drabshalla and Bhunzwah Tehsils of Kishtwar District are poor.
The people said that they ran from pillar to post since last several years with the request to transfer the administrative control of TSO Drabshalla to Kishtwar District.
Following the request from the general public, Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Rajinder Singh Tara take up the matter with the Secretary to the Government FCS&CA Department vide letter No. DDCK/Plg/FCS&CA-235/FY20/909-914 Dated 24-6-2020 titled “change of Administrative control in respect of FCS&CA of Tehsil Drabshalla and Bhunzwah District Kishtwar from Assistant Director FCS&CA Doda to Assistant Director, FCS&CA Kishtwar”.
“Tehsil Drabshala and Bhunzwah falls under the administrative jurisdiction of Assistant Director FCS&CA Doda and accordingly ration of these areas is supplied by to Assistant Director, FCS&CA Doda, however it actually falls in the District Kishtwar and the allocation of food grains is also made in favour of District Kishtwar-but physically the food grains are controlled by Assistant Director FCS&CA Doda“. read the communication adding that the people of these Tehsils from areas like Kither, Patnazi, Nali, Jawalapur, Patshala, Binoon, Mori, Kukarwas, Salana, Tatani, Bhadat, Nagbatna, Jushana and other areas often demand the administrative control of these two Tehsil from Assistant Director FCS&CA Doda to Assistant Director, FCS&CA Kishtwar.
In 2018, Assistant Director FCS&CA Doda vide letter No. 2325/FCS&CA/D//2018 dated 10-1-2018 also recommended that TSO Office Drabshalla be detached from District Doda and attached with Assistant Director, FCS&CA Kishtwar in order to run the hassle free work of allocation, distribution and remittance of food grains added that though the route of dispatch of ration from FCI Khelani upto stores of Tehsil Drabshalla and Bhunzwah is convenient and economical, but even then the administrative control of TSO Drabshalla should be with Assistant Director FCS&CA Kishtwar instead of Assistant Director, FCS&CA Doda on the pattern of Marwah/Warwan where ration is being supplied from Mir Bazar Anatnag, but the administrative control is with Kishtwar District.
Secretary FCS&CA, J&K Government, Dr. Simrandeep Singh assured to look into the matter. Speaking to Early Times, AD FCS&CA Kishtwar said that the department is vigorously following the matter added that they are hopeful that the matter will get resolved shortly.
