Jammu, July 15: After recent incident of conflict between the Director School Education of both regions and Commissioner Secretary regarding transfers of teachers by the formers without his approval, now this time the Secretary had reportedly sought proposals from both offices and it is being expected that soon massive transfer in the department is likely to take place. Recently, the Commissioner Secretary School Education Department had issued an order and debarred both directorates to make transfers of gazetted officers and asked them to send a proposal to the administrative department for its approval. Consequently, the both Directorates had sent proposals to the Commissioner Secretary, wherein large numbers of teachers are likely to be transferred in coming days. Sources told that hundreds of teachers having to approach and close to the corridors of power are adjusted, attached, deployed in capital cities, towns schools , offices of DSEJ, CEOs, ZEOs, DCs, SDMs, election cells, BLOs , for years together.
“The transfer industry in Education Department started flourishing from 2010-2014 resulting the Education Department became second most corrupt department of the Jammu and Kashmir after Revenue Department,” they said further adding that despite number of orders issued during the previous Governor of detachment of teachers, the order could not be implemented in letter and spirit.
There should be strict action against concerned officials for not complying with the orders of senior and such officials should be taken to task like done by Principal Secretary School Education, who recently had suspended two CEOs in this regard and warned others, they said.
They said last year seven hundred teachers in Jammu district were transferred some of them were sent out of the city but they protested thereby the order was kept in abeyance in July 2019 and till date is pending and for this influential teachers are responsible who do not want to leave the city and exert pressure on Directors and CEOs. |
