SRINAGAR, Aug 13: The recovery rate of Corona Virus patients in the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reached 71.62 percent as 779 COVID-19 patients recovered today. Meanwhile, 536 fresh cases of virus were reported today with 11 deaths taking place in past 24 hours.
Srinagar reported 144 fresh cases of Corona Virus followed by Bandipora 54 cases, Jammu 49 cases, Baramulla and Kupwara 46 cases each, Ganderbal 41 cases, Budgam 36 cases, Pulwama 33 cases, Anantnag 16 cases, Reasi 15 cases, Kulgam 14 cases, Kathua 10 cases, Shopian and Samba eight cases each, Poonch five cases, Rajouri, Ramban and Doda three cases each and Udhampur & Kishtwar one case each.
Srinagar reported three fresh COVID-19 deaths followed by Budgam two deaths and a death each in Jammu, Poonch, Baramulla, Ganderbal, Pulwama and Kupwara districts. So far 470 Corona Virus deaths have taken place in Kashmir valley with the number of casualties in Jammu division being 39.
The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 536 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 98 from Jammu division and 438 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 26,949. Also 11 COVID-19 deaths have been reported; two from Jammu and nine from Kashmir Division.
Moreover, 779 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals, 218 from Jammu Division and 561 from Kashmir Division. Out of 26,949 positive cases, 7,138 are active positive, 19,302 have recovered and 509 have died; 39 in Jammu division and 470 in Kashmir division. Out of 7, 63,211 test results available, 7, 36,262 samples have tested negative till date.
Additionally, till date 4, 06,537 travelers and persons in contact with suspected cases have been enlisted for observation which included 42,231 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 7,138 in isolation and 48,554 under home surveillance. Besides, 3, 08,105 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 6,577 positive cases, 2,036 active positive, 4,378 recovered, 163 deaths; Baramulla has 2,303 positive cases, 523 active positive, 1,694 recovered, 86 deaths; Pulwama has 1,983 positive cases, 577 active positive, 1,373 recovered, 33 deaths; Anantnag has 1,680 positive cases, 343 active Positive, 1,302 recovered, 35 deaths; Budgam has 1,677 positive cases, 485 active positive, 1,154 recovered, 38 deaths.
“Kulgam has 1,674 positive cases, 203 active positive, 1,440 recovered, 31 deaths; Shopian has 1,545 positive cases, 104 active positive, 1,417 recovered, 24 deaths; Kupwara has 1,394 positive cases, 272 active positive, 1,091 recovered, 31 deaths; Bandipora has 1,251 positive cases, 542 active positive, 691 recovered, 18 deaths and Ganderbal has 815 positive cases, 353 active positive, 451 recovered, 11 deaths,” reads the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 1,776 positive cases, 723 active positive, 1026 recovered, 27 deaths; Rajouri has 774 positive cases, 186 active positive, 585 recovered, three deaths; Kathua has 636 positive cases, 100 active positive, 535 recovered, one death; Udhampur has 634 positive cases, 171 active positive, 461 recovered, two deaths; Ramban has 619 positive cases, 47 active positive, 571 recovered, one death.
“Samba has 541 positive cases, 165 active positive, 375 recovered, one death; Doda has 327 positive cases, 37 active positive, 288 recovered, two deaths; Poonch has 310 positive cases, 110 active positive, 198 recovered, two deaths; Reasi has 257 positive cases, 138 active positive, 119 recovered and Kishtwar has 176 positive cases, 23 active positive, 153 recovered,” reads the bulletin. Out of 26,949 positive cases 5,318 have been reported as travelers.
The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least 2 meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene.
