PCC hails decisions of CWC, expresses faith in Sonia Gandhi’s leadership

SRINAGAR, Aug 25: A day after the Congress Working Committee (CWC) has extended the term of Sonia Gandhi as party president; the entire senior leadership of Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) has welcomed the decision and expressed full faith in the leadership of Sonia Gandhi.
A meeting of senior leaders including delegates of AICC from PCC, former ministers and legislators, functionaries of PCC and district presidents of the party was held at Srinagar PCC Headquarter under the chairmanship of PCC chief Ghulam Ahmed Mir.
The leaders welcomed and fully endorsed the decision of the Congress Working Committee and expressed gratitude to Sonia Gandhi for accepting to continue to discharge the important responsibility at this crucial phase, when the country is faced with many challenges especially from the forces opposed to the core principles for which Congress always stood for.
The congress leaders recalled the special bonds of the Nehru-Gandhi leadership with the people of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh which was always maintained and continued by the present leadership and the congress workers of this region have special regards and respect for the family for standing up to the numerous difficult situations, at times, faced by the people of this part.
Expressing full faith in the leadership of Sonia Gandhi, the leaders said that the party workers look forward for her able guidance at this crucial phase of identity crisis faced by the people of the erstwhile historical state of Jammu and Kashmir.
Meanwhile, the entire leadership of Jammu region have also unanimously expressed their full faith in the leadership of Sonia Gandhi and expressed gratitude to her for accepting the decision of the CWC last evening, after detailed deliberations. The senior leaders including senior functionaries of the party and former minister and legislators besides district presidents and frontal heads of the party gave fully endorsed the wise decision of CWC yesterday and extended full support for the crucial role of the party at this juncture.
They also appreciated the dynamic role being played by Rahul Gandhi in the face of the multiple challenges posed by the forces in power to the basic structure and core values of our nation and urged him to continue to lead the party.
