| AJKYF slams Govt for abolishing SHGs, demands to revoke decision | | |

JAMMU, Aug 25: All J&K Youth Federation (AJKYF) expressed strong concern over the decision of Jammu and Kashmir government for scrapping of Self Help Groups (SHGs) and ending their quota for tendering process.
AJKYF, Incharge Jammu Province, Sanjay Singh Sandhu slammed the UT Administration for abolishing the SHG (Self Help Groups), their work quota which has badly affected thousands of qualified engineers and diploma holders involved in the construction work. He termed the abolition of SHGs as arbitrary and a decision taken without considering the ground reality of number of unemployed engineers who are searching for job opportunity poorly. More than 15000 thousand engineers, their staff working in their offices involved in the construction work in Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh are now jobless due to such erroneous decision of government as the people of Jammu and Kashmir have already suffered enormously by many arbitrary decisions of the administration from past six years and government has suddenly ended the reserved quota putting the engineers in a state of shock. AJKYF urged upon the UT administration to revoke the decision forthwith and take effective measures to create more employment avenue for other unemployed youth to ensure that the current economic crisis confronting youth and people of J&K at large were addressed rather than pushing them to wall.
