EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU Sep 14: A protest/dharna by All J&K Home Guards Welfare Association was held here today under the chairmanship of Babu Hussain Malik, President, EJAC (R).
In the protest/dharna, Babu Hussain Malik urged upon the Lt Governor of J&K to resolve the long pending genuine demands of the Home Guard employees to do justice with them. Addressing the media, Kamla Sharma highlighted the various demands of the Home Guards which are overseen by all the previous governments on one pretext or the other. She said that time and again their Association has approached all the quarters of Administration right from Director General-FS, Chief Secretary and to the previous Lt Governor, G C Murmu also but all in vain. Except assurance and formation of Committees, nothing concrete has been done till date in case of Home Guards. The demands include implementation of Supreme Court of India's order No. 2759 of 2015 dated 11-03-2015 regarding regularization and fixation of salary of Home Guards as many States and Union Territories have already implemented the said order in letter and spirit, formation of policy for regularization of Home Guards and stoppage of usual break of 6 years in service as many of the Home/Guards have rendered more than 20-25 years of selfless service and have always stood to the call of duty with full devotion, monetary and other service benefits as per other states and Union Territories.
